Join us for our Alter Shelf Building workshop! In this one day class, students will create a ceramic wall hanging altar or trinket shelf designed to hold meaningful objects, offerings, keepsakes, or small treasures!
Class will begin with guided brainstorming and sketching to help participants develop a personal concept and design for their piece. Using reclaimed clay students will learn how to use the slab roller and use clay slabs to o create unique forms with walls and shelves. Emphasis will be placed on both functionality and personal expression, resulting in a one-of-a-kind sculptural object for the home or sacred space.
At the end of the workshop, students will select a glaze finish for their piece. Work will be bisque fired, glazed by the instructor, and ready for pickup approximately 3–4 weeks after class.

Please note:
The student firing fee is $0.07 per cubic inch which covers the cost of bisque and glaze firing.
*Courses are subject to cancellation if there aren’t enough sign ups. This is a rare occurrence and in this case, students would be refunded the course fee.
*Centerpoint classes are for students ages 18 and older.Your final pieces will be ready for pickup 1-2 weeks from the last class.
