These 3 week classes will cover basic handbuilding techniques including pinching, slab building, using forms, applying textures, glazing, and fundamentals of the life cycle and process of ceramics. The first two weeks will be devoted to creating, and the last week will be for glazing. More advanced students are welcome to work and receive guidance on their own personal projects.
As a student you:
Will have your own shelf in the studio to store clay, tools, and projects. The course fee includes unlimited studio clay. (Additional clays can be purchased at the studio if desired.)
Can bring tools or purchase them from the studio for $15 on the first day of class, and should bring aprons and towels if desired.
Will have the option to book additional studio time at a discounted rate ($20 per hour) if you would like. Students will also have the opportunity to join the studio as a member after the course provided membership spots are available.
Please note:
All work must be completed or ready to go into the final glaze kiln by the end of the 2nd week.
The student firing fee is $0.07 per cubic inch which covers the cost of bisque and glaze firing.
